Dr. Ahmer Ibrahim, MD
Dr. Ahmer Ibrahim (he/his) joins Integrated Gastroenterology Consultants (IGIC) with 21 years of experience practicing gastroenterology and hepatology in the Merrimack Valley. He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Washington University. He went on to earn his medical degree from MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (now Drexel University College of Medicine), before completing his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology at Tufts–New England Medical Center in Boston.
Dr. Ibrahim cares for patients with a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions and brings extensive clinical experience and knowledge to his practice. He is committed to providing thoughtful, personalized care in a comfortable and approachable environment. He believes that careful listening, clear communication, and taking the time to understand each patient’s concerns are essential to delivering excellent care. He enjoys helping patients better understand their digestive health and working collaboratively with them to develop treatment plans tailored to their individual needs.
Prior to joining IGIC, Dr. Ibrahim served for 13 years as Medical Director of a local endoscopy center. In this role, he developed a strong interest in improving patient access and experience while fostering a collaborative, team-based approach to delivering high-quality gastrointestinal care in the community.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ibrahim is the proud father of two daughters, both of whom are interested in pursuing careers in medicine. He enjoys spending time outdoors, staying active, contributing to his community and local schools, and, most importantly, spending time with his family—and keeping their two crazy cats in line.
